Early access For AdSense and AdMob publishers

Hear about an ad‑serving limit before you find it.

Google shows invalid-traffic limits in Policy Center, and publishers report finding one with no email sent. Strikewatch would check your account for you, read-only, and send a plain-English note when something changes or looks off.

The problem

The warning comes after the damage.

Three things publishers report again and again on r/Adsense and r/adops. Each costs money, and none of them comes with much notice.

Early warning signs to check yourself.

These are the checks Strikewatch would run for you. You can do all of them by hand in a few minutes, and nothing here needs a sign-up.

Warning-signs checklistFive checks · a few minutes · no sign-up
  1. Open Policy Center, not just your inbox

Ad-serving limits show in Policy Center. One publisher reports getting a limit with no email at all, so look there directly.

  2. Watch your click-through rate against its own normal

A sudden CTR spike on a site that usually runs steady is worth a look, before Google's invalid-click filters get to it.

Why: earnings are adjusted as invalid clicks are removed (AdSense Help)
  3. Check where your traffic is coming from

A source you didn't expect suddenly making up a big share of visits, such as a new referrer, a bought campaign or one country, is the thing to explain before it becomes a problem.

  4. Compare earnings today with the same day two days later

Earnings can shift for about 48 hours while invalid clicks are removed. A day that keeps dropping is a signal.

  5. Read the month-end figure, not only the daily ones

Google can deduct invalid activity again at month-end, so the finalised number can be lower than the running total.

How it would work

Connect once, then it checks for you.

Three steps, and the first is the only one you do.

  1. Step 1 · you

    Sign in with Google

You approve read-only access to your AdSense or AdMob account through Google's own consent screen. No password is shared.

  2. Step 2 · automatic

    It checks on a schedule

It reads your Policy Center items, account alerts and reports. AdSense reports usually update every 15 to 30 minutes, so that is as fresh as checks can be.

    Source: AdSense Help 9867
  3. Step 3 · automatic

You get a note when it matters

When something new appears or a number moves outside its usual range, you get an alert like the example above: what changed, and what to check.

Read-only access

It can look. It can't touch.

Google offers read-only permission levels for both products. Strikewatch would ask for those and nothing wider.

adsense.readonlyview

Lets an app view your AdSense data. The wider adsense permission is "view and manage"; Strikewatch would not ask for it.

AdSense Management API
admob.readonlyview

Lets an app view your AdMob data: inventory, mediation settings and reports. You grant it through Google's own consent screen.

AdMob API
  • No passwordYou sign in on Google's page. Strikewatch never sees your login.

Being straight with you

What it can't do.

An early warning is useful. It is not a shield, and it is better you know that now.

  • It can't stop invalid traffic. It can tell you something looks wrong. Fixing the source is still on you.
  • It can't lift a limit or win an appeal.Only Google decides those. Strikewatch has no special line to Google.
  • It isn't real-time.It can only be as fresh as Google's own reports, which usually lag 15 to 30 minutes and sometimes a day or more.
  • It can't promise your account is safe.A quiet week means nothing new showed up in the data Google shares, not that you are in the clear.

Plain answers

How invalid-traffic limits work.

From Google's help pages, in plain English, with the links so you can check.

What is an invalid-traffic ad-serving limit?

It is a restriction Google places on ad serving when it sees traffic it treats as invalid, so fewer ads show while it is on. Limits appear in Policy Center, not necessarily in your inbox.

AdSense Help 9437976
How long does a limit last?

Google says limits typically last less than 30 days. It does not give an exact date in advance.

AdSense Help 9437976
Will Google email me when it happens?

Don't count on it. Google points publishers to Policy Center for limits, and publishers on r/Adsense report getting one with no email. Checking Policy Center is the reliable route.

AdSense Help · r/Adsense report
Why did yesterday's earnings go down today?

Earnings keep adjusting for about 48 hours while invalid clicks are removed, and can be deducted again when the month is finalised.

AdSense Help 1310910
How fresh is the data Strikewatch would see?

The same as yours. AdSense reports usually update every 15 to 30 minutes, with occasional delays of a day or more.

AdSense Help 9867
Does it work for AdMob as well as AdSense?

That's the plan. Both have read-only API access. Tell us which you use in the form, and it shapes what gets built first.

AdMob API
How much will it cost?

There is no price yet. We are asking what it would be worth to you before deciding anything, and "I wouldn't pay" is a useful answer too.
